After your session, keep the tattoo covered for the time Isaac advises. Do not remove the wrap too early, and avoid touching the tattoo with unwashed hands.
Tattoo Aftercare
The first hours matter.
When it is time to remove the wrap, wash the tattoo gently with clean hands and lukewarm water. Pat it dry with a clean towel or paper towel. Do not rub.
Keep it clean, but don’t overdo it.
Wash your tattoo gently once or twice a day with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free soap. Keep the area clean, calm, and dry.
Avoid scrubbing, soaking, swimming, saunas, and long hot showers while the tattoo is healing. Too much moisture can slow healing and affect the final result.
Thin layers only.
Use a tattoo aftercare cream if advised. Apply a very thin layer so the skin can still breathe. More cream does not mean better healing.
If the tattoo feels sticky, shiny, or overly wet, you are probably using too much. Keep it lightly moisturized, not drowned like a sad lasagna.
Let the skin do its work.
During healing, the tattoo may become dry, flaky, itchy, or slightly scabby. This is normal. Do not scratch, pick, or pull at the skin.
Picking can remove ink and damage the healed result. Let flakes come off naturally and keep clothing loose where possible to avoid friction.
Protect the result.
Once fully healed, protect your tattoo from heavy sun exposure. UV light can fade black & grey work over time, especially fine details and soft shading.
Use sunscreen on healed tattoos and keep the skin healthy. Good aftercare does not stop after two weeks — it keeps the piece looking strong for years.
